Custodian Training Day at SCOE
This training day is designed for all the workers who are required to attend the annual training sessions for Pesticide Applicator Safety, IPM, Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control, Heat Illness Prevention, Hazardous Materials Business Plan, Asbestos Awareness, and Mandated Reporter.
All employees performing maintenance, custodial, and grounds/gardener duties are encouraged to attend this important required training.
Here are the topics to be covered
8:00 am to 8:30 am
- Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control
Annual Training is required for employees who may come into contact with blood or blood-borne pathogens.
8:30 am – 9:00 am
- Hazardous Materials Business Plan
Emergency response procedures, handling Hazardous Waste/Universal Waste.
9:00 am-11:00 am
- Pesticide Applicator Safety
- DPR 102 (Practical Pest Management for Maintenance/Grounds/Custodial
- Heat Illness Prevention
Annual training is required for any employee that uses herbicides (Round- Up), insecticides (Ant Spray), pool chemicals (Chlorine), or any other material that is used to kill “pests” of any kind. other material that is used to kill “pests” of any kind. 11:00 am – 11:30 pm Lunch Break
11:30 am - 12:40 pm
- Asbestos Awareness. Annual Training is required.
12:40 pm – 1:30 pm
- Utility Cart Operator Certification
Anyone who operates a golf cart/gator/utility cart must be certified every 3 years. You must have your valid Driver's License to be certified.
1:30 pm
- Mandated Reporter
This training is required annually for all employees. The training will cover Laws regarding Mandated Reporter Training and California Penal Codes 11164-11174.3. Review of DOJ Form SS-8572. Resources on child abuse prevention will be provided.
